    Friday Sept. 6 - Meet the Artists

    Marion Lotka

    Marion finds inspiration in the skies and landscapes of New Jersey. She graduated from Philadelphia University and also studied at PCA, Moore College of Art and Fleisher Art Memorial. As a New Jersey resident, she studied with Rita Michalenka, Andrea Sauchelli and currently teaches painting for the Cape May County Library. She is on the board of directors with Ocean City Fine Arts League, volunteers and exhibits at the Art On Asbury Gallery. Marion’s paintings have been purchased by Atlanticare and are part of the Healing Arts Program permanent installations. She is an Associate Member Artist with Riverfront Renaissance, a member of Society of New Jersey Artists, Ocean City Art Center and Stockton Noyes. Her award winning work has been exhibited in many solo and group shows in New Jersey.

    Shirley Hawthorne

    Shirley grew up in rural South Jersey where she developed an appreciation for the beauty in simple things and a love of nature. She also draws inspiration from her worldwide travels. Shirley holds a BS in art education from the University of Delaware and also studied at the University of the Arts, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Fleisher Memorial and Studio Incamminati all in Phildelphia, PA. She taught art K-12 in public schools in Pittsburgh, PA and Salem County, NJ. She has won a variety of awards in numerous juried shows, and has exhibited her work in the Noyes, NJ, Brownsville, TX and Hagley, DE museums. For three years she was the featured artist in the World Birding Center on South Padre Island, TX. Shirley enjoys membership in the Riverfront Renaissance Center of the Arts, The Ocean City Fine Arts League, Society of New Jersey Artists and The Vero Beach Art Club. She is represented by Art on Asbury and the Ocean City Arts Center.

    . Kim Weiland, recognized national artist and painter will be exhibiting a retrospective of his oils and watercolors at Sunday Drive Farm on Friday July 19 th . A graduate of The Tyler College of Art in Philadelphia. Weiland’s work is collected nationally and shares affinity to Ocean City and South Jersey where he has lived and raised his family. Influences reflect not just coastal living, but much time spent in Italy, where he studied and later taught workshops. He served as President of the American Society of Marine Artists and on the board of the Ocean City Art Center. Nationally recognized for his watercolors and oils, his traditional approach to painting focuses on the light, color and atmosphere of each scene. His paintings are displayed in galleries nationally and have been exhibited in The Cape Museum of the Fine Arts, the Spartanburg Art Museum, and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and are also included in many private and public collections.
